Overview #
Reaching the Stone Age opens the Era Chamber, an area where four Timelord NPCs each offer you a path. Aligning with one grants a bundle of randomly rolled boosts, a unique mechanic, access to an exclusive area, and (for three of the four) trades for signature gear. You can only hold one Alignment at a time.
Each Alignment specializes in a different part of the game:
Origin & foundation. Accelerates Ticks, Moments, and Seconds. Opens the Genesis Caves and a token-fueled upgrade tree. Available at the Stone Age.
Growth & refinement. Sharpens Intelligence, Strength, and Seconds. Opens the Arcane Trials shop and the Ascension Feather. Requires the Bronze Age.
Depth & excavation. Boosts your ores and Mining Speed ⛏. Opens automated Drills and the Deep Breaker. Requires the Bronze Age.
Destruction & warfare. Rolls Damage 🗡, Defense 🗰, and Flesh. Opens the Volcano and the Carnage Cleaver. Requires the Bronze Age.
Choosing & Resetting #
You commit to an Alignment through its Timelord in the Era Chamber (or via /era). A normal
Era tier-up is a pure upgrade and resets nothing, but
choosing or changing an Alignment triggers a full Era reset.
Because the boosts are rolled fresh each time you align, re-aligning also re-rolls your boost values from your current Potential. A higher Potential the second time can mean a much stronger Alignment.
Potential #
The strength of your rolled boosts scales with your Potential, a score from 0 to 10 that each Timelord measures differently based on how far you've come in their specialty. Every Alignment reads two progress tracks: one built from a resource you can reset and rebuild, and one from a permanent lifetime counter that never goes down.
Each track has a ladder of thresholds. Every threshold you pass grants +1 Potential, and each track tops out at its threshold count, so two tracks worth five points each cap you at 10. Pass more thresholds before you align to roll stronger boosts.
| Alignment | Resettable track | Permanent track |
|---|---|---|
| Genesis | Ticks held | Lifetime Seconds resets |
| Ascension | Intelligence held | Lifetime Intelligence resets |
| Tectonic | Coal held | Lifetime blocks mined |
| Carnage | Flesh held | Lifetime mobs killed |
