Overview #
Ticks are the core currency of Timelords and the first thing you'll generate. Stand on the Ticks button (the gray one) in The Origin and it fires automatically about once per second, banking Ticks with every press, no frantic clicking required.
Ticks are a currency you generate, not a reset. You spend them to buy Moments, and both are eventually wiped when you cash out for your first real reset, Seconds. From there the ladder keeps climbing, but it all starts here.

picture.How you earn them #
Simply step onto the Ticks button and stay there. Roughly once per second it activates on its own and pays out your Ticks Fortune: the amount of Ticks you gain per press.
Perks & rare drops #
- VIP members get a second Ticks button in the VIP Cave that pays out ×5 the normal amount.
- Every press has a 1 in 2,000,000 chance to drop the Pocket Watch artifact, a Common artifact that multiplies your Ticks Fortune (roughly ×1.05 to ×5 depending on its roll).
What Ticks are for #
Ticks are your starter fuel. They power the earliest steps of the reset ladder:
- Buy Moments. The Moments button costs 5 Ticks per press. It spends Ticks, it doesn't reset them.
- Reach your first reset. Your first Seconds requires a big pile of Ticks (and Moments). Overshooting the requirement grants more Seconds, which then multiply your Ticks back even higher than before.
- Feed Temporal Power. Ticks are one of the inputs that scale your XP, which build the Temporal Power that gates your Time Leap.
Tips #
- Don't hoard early. Spend Ticks on Moments upgrades as soon as you can, since compounding multipliers beat sitting on a raw balance.
- Before pressing Seconds, overshoot the Ticks and Moments requirement, since every ×5 above it grants ×1.3 more Seconds.
- Struggling to progress later? The answer is almost always more Seconds and Chrono Dust, which both loop straight back into your Ticks Fortune.
