🔮 Arcane Trials

Arcane Trials

A pair of arcane minigames tied to the Ascension alignment. Play them at the enchantment table near Skyspire to earn Arcane Tokens, a token currency spent only in the Arcane Shop on Intelligence-focused upgrades and other rewards.

Overview #

The Arcane Trials are unlocked when you align with Ascension (an Era alignment available from the Bronze Age). Right-click the enchantment table near Skyspire to open the trials menu. Inside are two minigames, Echo Sequence and Memory Match, plus a shortcut to the Arcane Shop.

Both trials pay out Arcane Tokens, a currency used only in the Arcane Shop. Each trial has its own cooldown, so the loop is: play a trial, bank tokens, and come back once it's ready again. If you're impatient, a trial's cooldown can be refreshed early for Gems.

💡
The trials are part of the seamless Skyspire area, the same region where you build Intelligence. Everything the shop sells is designed to accelerate your Intelligence progression.
🔒
The trials menu only opens for players currently aligned with Ascension. Other alignments see the trials locked.

Echo Sequence #

A Simon-says memory game. A chain of arcane runes flickers before you: watch the sequence light up, then click each rune back in the exact order to echo it. Every round you clear adds one more rune to remember. The sequence can grow up to 25 runes long.

How it works
Each round shows a growing rune sequence, then it's your turn to repeat it. You get a short input timer (a few seconds longer each round). Clear the round and it advances; miss a rune or run out of time and the trial ends where you stopped.
Payout
The further you get, the more Arcane Tokens you bank; the reward scales with how long a sequence you reached (up to the length-25 cap). Push as deep as your memory allows before ending.
Cooldown
2 hours after you finish a run.
💡
Each rune plays a distinct note when it lights up, so use the sound cues, not just the colors, to memorize longer sequences.

Memory Match #

A pay-to-enter card-matching game across three tiers. You spend Arcane Tokens to enter a tier, then flip tiles to find matching color pairs. Each color is worth a hidden token value, so your net result can be positive or negative. It's a gamble that gets richer (and pricier) the higher the tier.

You have a limited number of attempts per board. Match a pair before your attempts run out to claim that color's hidden value; larger, higher-tier boards hide bigger per-color values.

TierEntryBoardAttemptsValue per color
Lesser54 × 391–4
Greater154 × 5142–7
Master354 × 7203–12

Entry is the Arcane Token cost to play a tier. Value per color is the hidden range each color pair is worth. Match enough high-value pairs and you profit; whiff on a low-value board and you can walk away down.

Cooldown
4 hours 30 minutes after you finish a board.

The Arcane Shop #

The Arcane Shop is the only place Arcane Tokens are spent. It leans heavily into Intelligence upgrades, fitting for an Ascension-aligned player.

ItemTokensWhat it does
Arcane Potion 35 Grants the Arcane Blessing effect: +10% Intelligence effectiveness for 15 minutes.
Neuron Accessory 150 An Epic accessory that boosts your Intelligence Generation. Can be purchased more than once for a chance at better rolled stats.
Recursive Learning Upgrade 1,000 A one-time upgrade that lets your spent Intelligence boost its own generation, a late-game compounding unlock.
Pure Diamond Package 50 A batch of Pure Diamonds, the genuinely scarce late-game resource used across the upgrade tree.
💎
The Neuron accessory rolls fresh stats each time you buy it, so re-buying is a cheap way to chase a better roll before you settle on one for your Accessory Bag.

Refreshing Cooldowns #

On cooldown but impatient? Shift-click a trial in the menu to refresh it early for Gems. The cost is 40 Gems per hour of cooldown remaining, rounded up, so refreshing a trial that just went on cooldown costs the most, and it gets cheaper the closer the timer is to expiring.

💡
Gems are a premium currency. Refreshing is purely a convenience. You never need to spend Gems to progress the trials; you can always just wait out the cooldown for free.
