Overview #
A sword provides two combat stats: Damage 🗡 (how hard each hit lands) and Attack Speed ⚡ (how fast you can swing). Every sword rolls its exact values once when it's created and keeps them forever, so two of the same tier can vary slightly, so it's worth re-rolling for a good one. There is no PvP in Timelords; swords are strictly for hunting the custom mobs that drop gear, relics, and rare materials.
Swords upgrade in one continuous chain across three metals. Buying the next tier consumes the tier directly below it and carries over any applied relic, so Bronze III leads into Iron I, and Iron III into Diamond I. Beyond that ladder sits one signature weapon reserved for an alignment.
The Sword Ladder #
Nine tiers across three metals, each with three steps. Bronze swords come from your earliest smiths; the Diamond line is forged at the Diamond Smith in the Diamond Mine. Higher tiers trade a touch of raw swing speed for far greater Damage 🗡.
| Sword | Damage | Attack Speed | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flimsy Bronze Sword (I) | 3 🗡 | 1.5 ⚡ | Common |
| Bronze Sword (II) | 5 🗡 | 1.6 ⚡ | Common |
| Reinforced Bronze Sword (III) | 8 🗡 | 1.5 ⚡ | Uncommon |
| Iron Dagger (I) | 10 🗡 | 1.9 ⚡ | Uncommon |
| Iron Sword (II) | 12 🗡 | 1.6 ⚡ | Rare |
| Sharpened Iron Sword (III) | 15 🗡 | 1.6 ⚡ | Epic |
| Diamond Tipped Sword (I) | 20 🗡 | 1.6 ⚡ | Epic |
| Diamond Sword (II) | 25 🗡 | 1.6 ⚡ | Epic |
| Tempered Diamond Sword (III) | 30 🗡 | 1.7 ⚡ | Epic |
Iron I swings fastest of the whole ladder at 1.9 ⚡, while the Bronze tiers sit at 1.5–1.6 ⚡. Displayed values are the base rolls. A relic, your stat total, and active effects all push your real Damage higher.
Carnage Cleaver #
The Carnage Cleaver is the signature weapon beyond the ladder, a Legendary sword available only to players on the Carnage alignment. It hits for 30–70 🗡 (rolled on creation) and carries the Inferno ability.
Right-click to activate Inferno: your blade lights up for 15 seconds, and while lit every hit sets mobs ablaze with the Inferno effect, dealing fire damage each second for 3 seconds (reduced by the mob's damage reduction). The ability then goes on cooldown before it can be triggered again.
Relics & Boosting Damage #
Your sword's base Damage is only the start. To push it higher, apply a sword relic at the Relic Smith in the Iron Mine. It amplifies the sword's own boost, and carries over when you upgrade to the next tier.
| Relic | Effect | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Fang | +5–20% 🗡 Damage | Cave Crawler |
| Steel Frame | +Damage 🗡 & +Crit 💥 | Diamond Smith |
Beyond relics, plenty of other items and effects raise your Damage across the board:
- The Venom accessory grants +Damage 🗡 and Strength (dropped by the boss).
- The Titan Core artifact scales Damage, Crit, and Defense with your Strength; the Chipped Blade and Sharp Fang add flat Damage and Crit Power.
- Drink a Potion of Strength or Rampage Potion before a hunt for a big timed Damage 🗡 spike.
- The Frenzy and Rampage effects (and the Carnage Barbarian passive) stack Damage the more you kill.
