How Runes Work #
Runes are permanent, stacking boosts to your resource gains. You collect them by standing on a
rune button, a pad hidden in the mines. While you stand on it, the button rolls
repeatedly (about once every 1.5 seconds), charging its cost each time and dropping a random rune into your
collection. Open it any time with /runes.
Every copy of a rune adds to its boost, so runes stack additively: owning ten Coal runes gives ten times the boost of owning one. Because the cheap runes roll constantly and the rare ones almost never do, your collection naturally fills with commons while the rare runes stay genuinely scarce, which is exactly why they're worth so much more.
Rolling & Rarity #
Each roll works from the rarest rune down. The button checks the top-tier rune first (a 1-in-10,000 Ruby, say), then the next, and so on. The first one that hits is what you get. If nothing rarer lands, you fall back to the pack's guaranteed common. So the listed odds are the chance for each rune to be reached and land, and rarer runes are dramatically harder to see.
Every roll costs its pack's price whether or not it produces a rare rune, so a single rare rune can be worth thousands of ordinary rolls. If you can't afford a roll, the button simply stops paying out until you top up.
Fracture Pack #
The first pack you'll meet, found in the fractures of the mines. Its rune button unlocks at the Bronze Mine, and each roll costs 10 Bronze + 1,000,000 Seconds. Its runes push your early economy: Ticks, Moments, XP, Coal, Seconds, Bronze, and Strength.
| Rune | Roll Chance | Boosts |
|---|---|---|
| Wood | 1 / 1 | XP |
| Stone | 1 / 4 | XP |
| Coal | 1 / 6.5 | Ticks & Moments |
| Bronze | 1 / 20 | Ticks & Moments |
| Iron | 1 / 100 | Ticks & Moments |
| Diamond | 1 / 1,000 | Coal & Seconds |
| Ruby | 1 / 10,000 | Strength & Bronze |
The commons stack fast and keep your Ticks and Moments climbing, while Diamond and Ruby are the payoff for grinding thousands of rolls.
Geode Pack #
The high-end pack, hidden deep in the diamond geode. Its rune button unlocks at the Diamond Mine, and each roll costs a single Pure Diamond. Because Pure Diamonds are one of the scarcest resources in the game, every Geode roll is a real investment. Its runes reward you with Iron, Diamonds, Chrono Dust, Strength, and Intelligence Generation.
| Rune | Roll Chance | Boosts |
|---|---|---|
| Calcite | 1 / 1 | Iron |
| Quartz | 1 / 10 | Iron & Chrono Dust |
| Jasper | 1 / 100 | Strength |
| Amethyst | 1 / 250 | Intelligence Generation |
| Opal | 1 / 1,000 | Diamonds & Chrono Dust |
Since each roll burns a Pure Diamond, a single rare Opal is worth thousands of ordinary rolls, and its Diamonds boost feeds right back into more Pure Diamonds down the line.
